Domestic Violence

Orange County spousal abuse and domestic violence attorney Will Bruzzo has handled many cases involving domestic violence and spousal abuse and received many testimonials The penalties for domestic violence convictions can be severe.

I had an argument with my girlfriend and pushed her out of my house. She had some visible injuries which she claimed were because of me. She called the police to my home because I locked her out. Numerous police came to my house and set up a perimeter and tried to get me to come outside. This standoff went on for hours. Eventually I came out of my house and I was tackled by a K-9 unit and arrested. An amount of a controlled substance enough for sales was also found in my girlfriend’s purse which police claimed I had planted there. I was charged with Domestic Violence with Corporal Injury (Penal Code Section 273.5(a) and Resist and Obstruct Officer (Penal Code Section 148(a) (1). I was facing up to 2 years in jail for those offenses. Also, the police resources used during the standoff were enormous which complicated the issue. I hired Attorney Will Bruzzo to represent me. Mr. Bruzzo went to work negotiating the matter with the District Attorney. He argued that I had no obligation to exit my house and that any [physical] contact I had with my girlfriend was incidental. In the end they DISMISSED the Domestic Violence with Corporal Injury (Penal Code Section 273.5(a) charge and the Resist, Obstruct Officer (Penal Code Section 148(a) (1) charge. I pled guilty to Disturbing the Peace by Loud Noise (Penal Code Section 415(2). I received no jail time. I am very happy with this result and I would enthusiastically recommend Mr. Bruzzo for any Domestic Violence with Corporal Injury charge (Penal Code 273.5(a) or Resist, Obstruct Officer (Penal Code Section 148(a) (1) charge. Dated: 1/4/18

I bailed out at $50,000.00 I hired Attorney Will Bruzzo to represent me. Mr. Bruzzo showed [the District Attorney] that this was a ‘mutual combat’ situation and that I too sustained injuries. He managed to get both the Domestic Violence (Penal Code Section 273.5(a) and the Vandalism (Penal Code Section 594(a)/ (b) (2) (A) charges DISMISSED. I pled guilty to Disturbing the Peace [Loud Noise] (Penal Code Section 415 (2). I must also complete a Domestic Violence class. I was arrested and charged with Penal Code Section 273.5(a) [Domestic Violence with Traumatic Injury]. Unfortunately, some of my actions were caught on video. In addition, an infant was present during the incident. My family hired Attorney Will Bruzzo to represent me. Mr. Bruzzo is very familiar with the District Attorney and the Courts in Orange County. He negotiated with the District Attorney and was able to get the Penal Code Section 273.5(a) [Domestic Violence with Traumatic Injury] DISMISSED. I pled to a Disturbing the Peace [Penal Code Section 415]. This looks much better on my record. I was arrested for Penal Code Section 243(e)(1) [Domestic Violence]. I was looking at up to one year for this offense. I hired attorney Will Bruzzo to represent me. The District Attorney agreed to DISMISS the Domestic Violence charge [Penal Code Section 243(e)(1) and I pled Guilty to Disturbing the Peace [Penal Code Section 415(2). I received credit for one day jail and was not sentenced to any more jail time. I must successfully complete a batterers class and successfully complete probation. I had an argument with a person I was dating. A security man claimed that I beat on the person with my fists’ multiple times. I was arrested for Penal Code Section 243(e)(1) [Domestic Violence] and bail was set. I was very concerned with having this charge on my record. I hired attorney Will Bruzzo to represent me. He went to court and negotiated a DISMISSAL of the case once I attended anger management classes and gave DNA. I never pled guilty and I never had to do a class. I am very happy with this result and I would enthusiastically recommend Mr. Bruzzo for any Domestic Violence 243(e)(1) case. Dated: 1/22/20

I was charged with Penal Code Section 243(e)(1) for alleged domestic violence against my spouse. I was facing up to 1 year in jail and the loss of my job had I been convicted of this crime. My job would not permit me to keep working with a domestic violence conviction because of the weapons prohibition that accompanies Domestic Violence cases. I hired attorney Will Bruzzo. Mr. Bruzzo understood the potential effect on my job and finally worked out a deal where the case was DISMISSED once I completed the Batterers Treatment Program, gave DNA and performed Community Service. I am very happy with this result because I got to jeep my job and avoid a criminal record. I would therefore enthusiastically recommend Mr. Bruzzo for any Domestic Violence (243(e)(1) matter. I was charged with Penal Code Section 243(e) (1) [Domestic Violence] for an incident between the mother of my children and I. This situation turned into a nasty family law matter. Mr. Bruzzo was recommended to me by my family law attorney. Mr. Bruzzo went to court and convinced the District Attorney to DISMISS the case once I attended Anger Management classes. Mr. Bruzzo also got the DA to change the protective order so I could return to my home where I pay the mortgage. I am very happy with this result and I would enthusiastically recommend Mr. Bruzzo for any Domestic Violence, Penal Code Section 243(e) (1) matter. Date: 7/18/19

I was involved in a domestic altercation with two members of my family that incidentally got mildly physical. One of my family members made up that I had done something to her. Despite little physical evidence I was charged with Penal Code Section 245(a) (4) [Assault with Force Likely to Produce Great Bodily Injury], Penal Code Section 273a (a), [Child Abuse] and Penal Code Section 273.5 [Domestic Violence]. I was looking at up to a year in custody for these offenses. In addition, I was subjected to a Protective Order which prevented me from seeing my family or even going to my home for the duration of the case. This was all very upsetting for me. A friend helped me research lawyers and we met with and hired Will Bruzzo. Mr. Bruzzo gave us a plan on how to deal with the allegations which he had successfully used in previous cases. He had his private investigator take statements from my family members and then took those statements to the District Attorney. Based on those statements the District Attorney DISMISSED ALL THE CHARGES and TERMINATED the Protective order. I am very happy with this result and I would enthusiastically recommend Mr. Bruzzo for any case involving Penal Code Section 245(a)(4) [Assault with Force Likely to Produce Great Bodily Injury], Penal Code Section 273a(a), [Child Abuse] or Penal Code Section 273.5 [Domestic Violence]. I was charged with Domestic Violence under penal code section 243(e)(1) as a misdemeanor, when my husband and I had an argument and my husband told police that I had touched/pushed him, even though there were no injuries. One of my children called the police and I was arrested. Initially I had the public defender and they represented me for about three months. I was tired of how long the case was taking and I was innocent of the charge so I hired Attorney Will Bruzzo who was referred to me by another lawyer. Mr. Bruzzo reviewed the police reports and other evidence I presented him and then he went to court without me. On the first court date he got the case DISMISSED after speaking with the District Attorney. I believe Mr. Bruzzo’s familiarity with the courts and the District Attorney in Orange County was the key to the excellent result here. I am very grateful to him as this matter added a lot of stress to our family life. As such I would enthusiastically recommend him for any domestic violence matter. Dated: 10/27/15

I was charged with Penal Code Section 243(e)(1) [Domestic Violence] for an incident involving a boyfriend [Maximum Jail 1 year]. He claimed that I struck him on three different occasions. The truth is that he was abusive to me and I was trying to defend myself. He was also quite a few years older than me and was able to control me because of that. My family hired Will Bruzzo to represent me in this matter. Mr. Bruzzo argued the inequities in our relationship with the prosecutor but was unable to make much headway as my ex-boyfriend really wanted to pursue the charges. Finally, after much consideration and advice from Mr. Bruzzo, we decided to take the case to trial on a Self-Defense argument. When Mr. Bruzzo next spoke to the Prosecutor they DISMISSED the case without conditions. I am very relieved with this result as it was very stressful on me and my family. Also, the matter was inherently unfair- I believe he brought these charges because he knew he was abusing me and was afraid he would be charged or his career effected. Regardless, I am grateful to Mr. Bruzzo and I would recommend him for any Domestic Violence Penal Code Section 243(e)(1) matter. Date: 10/25/19

My spouse and I had an argument and then suddenly my spouse became physical. In an effort to defend myself I accidentally struck my spouse in the eye causing significant swelling. A few days later we went to the hospital because my spouse was complaining about pain from the injured eye. When Hospital personnel heard how the injury occurred they called police. When the police arrived we both explained the accidental nature of the injury. However, the police did not believe us and I was arrested [for Domestic Violence Penal Code Section 273.5] and bail was set at $50,000.00 We hired Attorney Will Bruzzo to represent us. Mr. Bruzzo took a statement [through his investigator] from my spouse and submitted it to the District Attorney before filing. The case was subsequently rejected. No criminal charges were filed. [Some time later] we then had Mr. Bruzzo file a Petition to Seal and Destroy the Arrest Record under Penal Code Section 851.8 to remove the record of my arrest. Mr. Bruzzo filed the Petition and it was GRANTED. There is now no trace of this event. I am very happy with this result for the sake of my family and career. I would recommend Mr. Bruzzo for any Penal Section 273.5 [Domestic Violence with Traumatic Condition] and Penal Code Section 851.8 [Seal and Destroy of Arrest Record] matter. Date: 3/15/19

I was charged with Penal Code Section 243(e)(1), Domestic Violence and Penal Code Section 594(a)/(b)(2)(A) Vandalism as a result of an altercation with my spouse which caused me to act in self-defense and caused some minor damage to my house. To make matters worse, my spouse made some [other] false allegations about me to the police which complicated the case. I hired Attorney Will Bruzzo to represent me. Mr. Bruzzo argued my lack of a record, my age and stellar professional career. In the end the District Attorney agreed to DISMISS the case with DNA and attendance at a 12 month class [never pled guilty]. I am very happy the case was DISMISSED and I would recommend Mr. Bruzzo for any Domestic Violence (Penal Code Section 243 (e) (1) case. Dated: 2/7/19

I was charged with Penal Code Section 273.5, Domestic Violence [with injury] for allegedly striking my girlfriend. I was also charged with three counts of Penal Code Section 166 (c) (1) for disobeying a court order. Additionally, I had charges of Resisting Arrest, Penal Code Section 148(a) and Public Intoxication Penal Code Section 647(f). I hired Attorney Will Bruzzo to take these matters to trial. At Trial the District Attorney ended up dismissing the Domestic Violence Charge and two of the disobeying court order charges AND they also dismissed the public intoxication and resisting arrest charges. I pled to one count of Disobeying a Court Order and got probation [No Jail]. Previously Mr. Bruzzo handled another Domestic Violence case for me at Trial [where I was found NOT GUILTY]. I would enthusiastically recommend Mr. Bruzzo for any Domestic Violence matter. Dated: 11/4/15

I was arrested for Domestic Violence [Penal Code Section 243(e) (1)] and Injuring a Wireless Device with Intent to prevent a Crime Report [Penal Code Section 591.5]. I have a job that is very sensitive to a Domestic Violence charge. I read about Will Bruzzo on-line and hired him to represent me before charges were filed. Mr. Bruzzo understood my background and had his investigator speak with my wife. She made a statement to the investigator indicating what she wanted done on the case as the victim and that statement was forwarded to the District Attorney’s office prior to filing. When the matter did go to court only the Injuring a Wireless Device with Intent to prevent a Crime Report [Penal Code Section 591.5] charge remained. Mr. Bruzzo was then able to negotiate an agreement where that charge was DISMISSED after I gave DNA, completed AA meetings and did community service. Mr. Bruzzo helped save my career. I am very happy with the result and I would enthusiastically recommend him for any Domestic Violence [Penal Code Section 243(e) (1)] and Injuring a Wireless Device with Intent to prevent a Crime Report [Penal Code Section 591.5] case. Dated: 8/26/19

I was charged with Battery against a co-habitant (Penal Code Section 243(e) (1)) for allegedly physically attacking my wife. I was also charged with child endangerment under Penal Code Section 273a (b) because my children were present during the alleged domestic violence. If I had been convicted of those charges I would have lost my job as my employer does not tolerate these kinds of convictions. I hired attorney Will Bruzzo to represent me because of his experience with these kinds of cases and his past case results. Mr. Bruzzo talked to my spouse and gathered evidence to present to the prosecutor. Mr. Bruzzo appeared in court without me a few times and negotiated the case. In the end, he got both charges DISMISSED. I am very happy with this result and I would enthusiastically recommend Mr. Bruzzo for any Domestic Violence/Battery of a Spouse Case. Dated: 08/18/16

I was charged with Domestic Violence under Penal Code Section 273.5. Two women and my spouse told police I had assaulted my spouse. I hired Attorney Will Bruzzo to represent me. The matter was set for trial. When my wife refused to testify the District Attorney tried to force her to testify. [A Domestic Violence Victim cannot be incarcerated or arrested for refusing to testify although he/she can be fined] Mr. Bruzzo brought this misconduct to the court’s attention. When the District Attorney tried to get my wife’s statements she made to the police into evidence Mr. Bruzzo argued to keep them out. The court [ruled] that the statements my wife made to the police were inadmissible [in the trial]. The DA then had no evidence and the case was DISMISSED. I recommend Mr. Bruzzo for any Domestic Violence case. Dated: 07/16/15

I was charged with Domestic Violence under Penal Code Section 243(e) (1) for an altercation I got into with my girlfriend when we were both intoxicated. I was looking at up to 1 year in custody for this offense and difficulty finding employment with this violent charge. I hired Attorney Will Bruzzo to represent me. Mr. Bruzzo is very familiar with the Courts and District Attorney. He began negotiating with the District Attorney. One thing that made my case difficult was that a Police Officer claimed to have seen me push my girlfriend down. After several visits to Court Mr. Bruzzo negotiated a deal where I pled guilty to a Disturbing the Peace charge, [Penal Code Section 415(1)] and the Domestic Violence Charge [Penal Code Section 243(e) (1) was DISMISSED! I have to complete a class but I was given NO JAIL. I am very happy with this result and I would recommend Mr. Bruzzo for any Domestic Violence [Penal Code Section 243(e) (1), Penal Code Section 273.5] case or criminal matter. Dated: 07/14/16

My wife and I got into an argument at home one night. She threw some things at me, tried to attack me and I pushed her in self-defense causing her to fall. The next day she sought medical attention for her injuries and told the Doctor what had happen. I was arrested for Domestic Violence (Penal Code Section 273.5) soon after and bail was set. I was very upset by all this because I did not feel I had done anything wrong and in addition to all that my wife was very intoxicated and out of control on that evening. I hired Attorney Will Bruzzo to represent me in this matter due to his familiarity with the courts and the District Attorney and his obvious experience with Domestic Violence cases. Mr. Bruzzo heard the facts of my case and then talked to my wife who concurred with my memory of the night. Mr. Bruzzo then had my wife draft and sign a declaration under penalty of perjury describing the events as she remember them. In that declaration she conceded throwing things at me and attacking me, things the police apparently ignored or did not care about. Mr. Bruzzo said he would present my wife’s declaration to the District Attorney PRIOR TO THEM FILING THE CASE which gives them the opportunity NOT to file the case against me. After my wife signed the sworn statement Mr. Bruzzo took the declaration to the District Attorney’s office for their consideration when deciding whether or not to file the case. The District Attorney ended up REJECTING the case … this means that they don’t even file charges and I will never have to go to court on this allegation! I am very happy with this result and I would enthusiastically recommend Mr. Bruzzo for any criminal or domestic violence matter. Dated: 04/30/15

I was arrested for Domestic Violence (Penal Code Section 273.5) and required to post $50,000.00 bail. I got into a physical altercation with my spouse of many years. In the altercation my spouse sustained a small injury to the face. My spouse called the police who came to the house and interviewed us and took pictures of the injury. I was then arrested and a court date set. My family found Mr. Will Bruzzo on the internet and he met with me and my family. He decided it would be wise to have my spouse sign and date a declaration wherein the facts were described in greater detail. The physical altercation we got into was more of a tug-of-war over a phone; also my spouse did not want to me to be charged. Mr. Bruzzo explained that the scenario I was involved in is known in criminal law as ‘mutual combat’ where since both sides are somewhat at fault, no one is charged. Mr. Bruzzo submitted the declaration to the District Attorney’s Office and then followed up with them a few days later. In the end the District Attorney decided there was “insufficient evidence” to file my case. As such, I never had charges filed against me and I never even went to court and of course I have no conviction. I am very happy with this result and I would enthusiastically recommend Mr. Bruzzo for any Domestic Violence matter. Dated: 04/09/15

I was charged and arrested for Penal Code Section 243(e) (1) [Domestic Violence] and Penal Code Section 273a (b) [Child Abuse/Endangerment, Cruelty to a Child] for what was essentially a verbal dispute between myself and my spouse and one of my children. I thought the case should be dismissed but my first lawyer could not get it done. I hired Attorney Will Bruzzo to represent me. Mr. Bruzzo negotiated with the District Attorney and when they refused to dismiss he set the matter for trial. On the first day of trial the case was DISMISSED. I was very relieved. But, then I had to contend with a Penal Code Section 243(e) (1) [Domestic Violence] and Penal Code Section 273a (b) [Child Abuse/Endangerment, Cruelty to a Child] arrest on my record. I needed to get this arrest removed. Once again I turned to Mr. Bruzzo who had significant success and experience with Petitions to Seal and Destroy Arrest Records under Penal Code Section 851.8 [Also, 851.91]. Despite my spouse and child making statements incriminating to me, Mr. Bruzzo got the arrest record and all accusatory court pleadings, including the police report, SEALED and DESTROYED (Penal Code Section 851.8) over the objection of the District Attorney. I am very happy with this result because it cleans my record as much as can possibly be done. As such, I would recommend Mr. Bruzzo for any Penal Code Section 243(e) (1) [Domestic Violence] and Penal Code Section 273a (b) [Child Abuse/Endangerment, Cruelty to a Child] case and for any Seal and Destroy Arrest Record under Penal Code Section 851.8. I was charged with Penal Code Section 243(e) (1) [Domestic Violence] and Penal Code Section 594(a)/ (b) (1) [Vandalism]. I was looking at up to one year in jail for these offenses and a one year license suspension. I hired Attorney Will Bruzzo to represent me. This incident occurred when I had an altercation with the father of my children. Unfortunately, I admitted to committing the acts underlying the crimes of Domestic Violence [Penal Code Section 243(e) (1) and Vandalism 594(a)/ (b) (1) to the police during questioning. Convictions for these offenses would have been devastating to my career and could have caused custody issues with my children. Mr. Bruzzo went to court several times and negotiated with the District Attorney. In the end he got the Domestic Violence [Penal Code Section 243(e) (1) and Vandalism 594(a)/ (b) (1) charges DISMISSED. I pled to a Disturbing the Peace Charge [Penal Code 415(1)] with attendance at a Domestic Violence Class. I received NO JAIL. I am very happy with this result and would enthusiastically recommend Mr. Bruzzo for any Domestic Violence [Penal Code Section 243(e) (1) and/or Vandalism [Penal Code Section 594(a)/ (b) (1)] case. I was being investigated for Domestic Violence (Penal Code Section 273.5(a) for getting in an altercation with my girlfriend. I left before the police could arrest me. I also had a three year old WARRANT for driving on a Suspended License (Vehicle Code Section 14601.1(a). I hired Attorney Will Bruzzo to represent me on the Domestic Violence (Penal Code Section 273.5(a) case. He took a statement from my girlfriend where she admitted to exaggerating the situation. In the end, the District Attorney never filed the case. Mr. Bruzzo then went to Court and the District Attorney DISMISSED the Warrant on the Driving on a Suspended License Charge (Vehicle Code Section 14601.1(a) when I gave DNA. I am very happy with this result and I would recommend Mr. Bruzzo for any Domestic Violence (Penal Code Section 273.5 (a) or Driving on a Suspended License (Vehicle Code Section 14601.1(a) case. I was charged with Penal Code Section 243(e) (1), Battery on a Co-habitant [The allegation was that Defendant assaulted spouse] This charge carries a maximum of 1 year in custody. I was also very concerned with how this would look on my record. A witness claimed that I pushed my spouse. I hired Attorney Will Bruzzo to represent me. Mr. Bruzzo negotiated with the District Attorney. Mr. Bruzzo was able to get a deal [and got] the case DISMISSED once I gave DNA, completed the batterer’s class and made a donation. I never pled guilty to this offense. I am very happy with this result and I would enthusiastically recommend Mr. Bruzzo for any Penal Code Section 243(e) (1) (Battery on a Co-habitant) charge. I was charged with Battery on a Cohabitant under Penal Code Section 243(e) (1) [Domestic Violence] and violating a protective order under Penal Code Section 166(c) (1). I hired Attorney Will Bruzzo to represent me. Mr. Bruzzo tried to resolve the matter but the District Attorney refused to dismiss the charges. In the end I went to trial. I was found NOT GUILTY of the Domestic Violence charge [under Penal Code Section 243(e) (1) and despite an eye witness against me] although guilty of violating protective order charges [those two convictions were later vacated because Mr. Bruzzo filed a motion for a new trial due to the Judge’s error during trial]; I am very happy with Mr. Bruzzo’s representation and trial skills and I would enthusiastically recommend him. My wife and I had an argument one night that got heated. She ended up leaving the house. My wife was intoxicated that night and was literally falling down from being drunk. She claimed that I punched her in the face and grabbed her by the throat. While my wife had some signs of injuries, she did not have injuries consistent with her description of what happen. Regardless, my wife called the police and I was arrested for Penal Code Section 273.5 [Domestic Violence] and Penal Code Section 236 [False Imprisonment]; my bail was set at $50,000.00. [I was referred to Mr. Bruzzo by a friend who had previously used his services and who had been pleased with the result] Mr. Bruzzo negotiated with the District Attorney and convinced them to Dismiss the case after I attended counseling with my wife; I was very happy with this result and I would enthusiastically recommend Mr. Bruzzo for any Domestic Violence matter. I was arrested and charged with Penal Code Section 243(e) (1) [Domestic Violence, Battery on a co-habitant]; this offense carries a maximum of 1 year in jail. The incident involved a very minor conflict with my wife. My family hired Mr. Bruzzo to represent me because of his familiarity with the courts and District Attorney in Orange County. Mr. Bruzzo and I appeared in court together. He immediately realized that the District Attorney had overlooked a possible violation of Penal Code Section 273a (b) [Child Endangerment]. As such, he said we needed to resolve the matter before the District Attorney amended the Complaint. He was able to convince the District Attorney to reduce the charge to a Penal Code Section 415(2) [Disturbing the Peace]; I also agreed to take Domestic Violence classes. This resolution kept the worst charges off my record. I did not receive any jail time. Mr. Bruzzo also managed to get the Protective Order modified to allow me unrestricted contact with my family once my wife attended the PEP [Personal EmPowerment] classes and I attended a few session of the Batterers Treatment Program. I am very happy with this result and I would enthusiastically recommend Mr. Bruzzo for any similar Domestic Violence/Battery on a co-habitant or other criminal matter. Dated: 12/06/13

I was charged with Penal Code Section 273.5 [Domestic Violence] for allegedly punching my wife in the head multiple times. Also my minor child was present during part of the incident. I was facing up to one year in jail for this offense. Also, a conviction for this charge could have caused me to lose my job. I hired Attorney Will Bruzzo to represent me because of his past successes with similar cases and his familiarity with the courts and district attorney in Orange County. Mr. Bruzzo negotiated hard with the District Attorney. He explained the problem with my job situation. In the end the District Attorney agreed to DISMISS the Domestic Violence Charge; I pled guilty to Disturbing the Peace [Penal Code Section 415(2)] and I will attend a Batterers class. I am very happy with this result and I would enthusiastically recommend Mr. Bruzzo for any Domestic Violence or criminal matter. Date: 12-4-13

A warrant went out for my arrest for Domestic Violence (Penal Code Section 243(e) (1)) and I was unaware of it. When I heard about it I went to court by myself. [Defendant alleged to have pushed spouse out of a moving car] Because I was unaware of my rights I pled guilty to the Domestic Violence charge (Penal Code Section 243(e) (1) and I was sentenced. Later, I realized this was a mistake. So I started to look for a good domestic violence criminal defense attorney in Orange County. I found Mr. Bruzzo and I saw that he had successfully represented many people with this type of charge. Mr. Bruzzo went right to work and filed a motion to withdraw my guilty plea. He was successful in doing that by persuading the judge that since I did not have a lawyer the guilty plea was not valid. Then he set to work negotiating my case. A domestic violence conviction could really be bad for my career. Mr. Bruzzo used my lack of a record and the sensitive nature of my job to get the Domestic Violence charges DISMISSED. Instead I pled to disturbing the peace (Penal Code Section 415(1) which will permit me to keep my job. I am very grateful to Mr. Bruzzo for this result and I would highly recommend him for any similar case or criminal matter. Date: 11-07-2013

I was charged with a violation of Penal Code Section 273.5 (Domestic Violence) and I was looking at up to 1 year in jail. The charge arose when my girlfriend and I had a disagreement and a small struggle ensued. She ended up falling down and cutting her head open. She told the police I had thrown her down and caused the injury. This was a lie but the police charged me anyway. To complicate matters I have a small criminal history of drug offenses. I hired attorney William W. Bruzzo to represent me as he was referred by a family friend. In addition, Mr. Bruzzo is very familiar with the courts, District Attorney and Judges in Orange County which permits him to get better results for his clients .Mr. Bruzzo was able to obtain a statement from my girlfriend where she told the truth about the incident. After several visits to court Mr. Bruzzo convinced the prosecutor to DISMISS the case. I hired attorney Will Bruzzo to represent me because of his familarity with the courts and District Attorney. My case was complicated by fact that the “victim” showed signs of minor injuries in photos taken after the incident. This crime carried a maximum of 1 year in jail. Mr. Bruzzo negotiated my case by showing the lack of credibility of the witness and also developed a very effective theory of the case. In the end the District Attorney agreed to DISMISS the domestic violence charges against me in exchange for my pleading guilty to a much less non domestic violence offense. I received no jail and only 1 year of probation. I am very grateful to Mr. Bruzzo for this result and I would enthusiastically recommend him for any criminal or domestic violence matter. I was charged with Penal Code Section 243(e) (1) [Battery on a co-habitant/spouse] for an incident with my wife. I was facing up to 6 months in jail and a fine of $1,000.00. I was especially concerned about having a conviction on my record because of the sensitive nature of my job. As such I hired Attorney William W. Bruzzo to represent me as he is very familiar with the courts and District Attorneys in Orange County and because of his good results in similar cases. Mr. Bruzzo took the case to a supervising deputy who agreed to DISMISS the case if I completed anger management, [couples] counseling, made a “donation” and gave DNA. I am very pleased with this result as it keeps my record clean. Therefore I would enthusiastically recommend Mr. Bruzzo for any Domestic Violence or criminal matter. Date: 9/29/11

I was arrested for Domestic Violence under Penal Code Section 273.5(a) for an incident that occurred with my spouse in Orange County, California. For that crime I was arrested and faced a maximum of one year in jail. After I got out of jail I made contact with Attorney William Bruzzo whom I understood to be a very effective attorney and very familiar with the judges and the District Attorneys in Orange County. Mr. Bruzzo told me that he would start working on my case even before my court date and that he would try to persuade the District Attorney NOT TO FILE the case against me which would mean there would never actually be a case in court. Mr. Bruzzo argued that the lack of any injury in this case, despite the allegation of battery by my spouse, might cause the District Attorney to have doubts about the provability of the case and lead to the non-filing. He contacted the District Attorney and took a statement from my spouse prior to the appearance date in court. Mr. Bruzzo then showed this statement to the DA and talked to her about the case. Two days after I hired Mr. Bruzzo he informed me that the District Attorney had REJECTED the case and decided not to file against me. I NEVER HAD TO APPEAR IN COURT AND I HAVE NO CONVICTION. I am very grateful to Mr. Bruzzo for his efforts and I would enthusiastically recommend him for any Domestic Violence or Criminal matter. Date: 8/8/11

I was arrested for Domestic Violence under Penal Code Section 273.5(a) as a felony for an incident that occurred with my spouse in Orange County, California. My bail was set at $50,000.00. For the crime I was arrested for I faced a maximum of three years in prison. Mr. Bruzzo told me that he would start working on my case even before my court date and that he would try to persuade the District Attorney NOT TO FILE the case against me which would mean there would never actually be a court case. Mr. Bruzzo told me it appeared that at a minimum both parties had engaged equally in the physical altercation. He also told me that the law says if both parties engage in mutual combat then the case can be dismissed. He made several phone calls to the District Attorney and then submitted a letter to the District Attorney which provided additional information about the incident that was helpful to me. I was charged with Penal Code Section 243(e) (1) [Domestic Violence Battery on a Spouse]; a conviction of this crime could have caused me to spend up to 1 year in custody. This case arose from an incident whereby I was alleged to have struck my spouse causing injury. I hired William W. Bruzzo to represent me in this matter because of his effectiveness in court and his knowledge of the law. Mr. Bruzzo told me that a conviction for a violent act such as this would have been detrimental to my record and therefore my future. In addition I was told that such a conviction could cause me to lose my job. This was especially significant because I have a family to feed and my spouse does not work. Mr. Bruzzo worked hard to get the charge changed to include going to the supervising district attorney. In the end he had the charge reduced to a Penal Code Section 415 [Disturbing the Peace]. The Domestic Violence Charge was dismissed. I truly believe that without Mr. Bruzzo’s familiarity with the Orange County Courts and the law I would not have received such a good result. I would enthusiastically recommend him for any criminal matter. Date: Dec. 2, 2009

Bruzzo to represent me in this matter because he is familiar with the Courts, the Judges and the District Attorneys in the County of Orange. My case was considered aggravated because two witnesses observed me punching the victim multiple times. In the end he had the charge reduced to a Penal Code Section 415 [Disturbing the Peace]. The Domestic Violence Charge was dismissed. I was charged with Domestic Violence under Penal Code Section 243(e) (1) [Battery Against Spouse]; a conviction of this crime could have caused me to spend up to 1 year in custody; in addition, a conviction would have ruined my ability to support myself and my family by being on my permanent record. I hired William W. Bruzzo to represent me in this matter because he is familiar with the Courts, the Judges and the District Attorneys in the County of Orange. Mr. Bruzzo, realized the importance of keeping my record clean and so he made many appearances without my presence in an effort to resolve the case in my favor. When all efforts failed we set the matter for trial but continued to negotiate my case with the District Attorney. In the end, I pled to a disturbing the peace ( Penal Code 415) as an infraction which effectively kept my record clean and agreed to go to counseling. I truly believe that without Mr. Bruzzo’s knowledge of the law and his familiarity with the courts and the district attorney my result would not have been so good. As a result, I would enthusiastically recommend Mr. Bruzzo for any domestic violence or criminal matter. Date: 5/11/07

I was charged with domestic violence (Penal Code Section 273.5), two counts of child abuse (Penal Code Section 273a (b) and battery on a co-habitant (Penal code section 243(e) (1). These sorts of charges would have caused me to lose my job and be unable to support my family if I was convicted of them. I could have also spent up to a year in jail. I hired Mr. William W. Bruzzo to represent me as I knew he had a good track record for representing other persons similarly situated. Also Mr. Bruzzo is apparently very familiar with the judges and the district attorneys in Orange County. Mr. Bruzzo prepared my case by presenting evidence vouching for my good character. In the end, after a few court appearances Mr. Bruzzo negotiated a DISMISSAL OF ALL CHARGES against me with the agreement that I would plea guilty to a disturbing the peace charge (Penal Code Section 415(2)). This result permits me to keep my job and support my family. Without Mr. Bruzzo’s representation I could have lost everything. I would enthusiastically recommend him for any criminal matter.
