Resisting Arrest/ Obstruction of Justice

(Penal Code Section 148(a) (1) )
Orange County Criminal Attorney

Testimonials

I was charged with a felony violation of Penal Code Section 69, Resisting and Deterring an Executive Officer, and Misdemeanor Battery on a Police Officer in violation of Penal Code Section 243(b).
My jail exposure was up to 3 years in prison for this offense. I was also on probation for a misdemeanor drunk driving offense. I hired Attorney Will Bruzzo to represent me.
Despite the charges and my being on misdemeanor probation I have a good record of employment with an advanced degree in a prestigious profession. I also have a family. [Mr. Bruzzo argued these points with the District Attorney.]
Even with the representations of Police Officers and private security personnel with whom I had an altercation Mr. Bruzzo negotiated a complete DISMISSAL OF ALL THE CHARGES after I attended anger management classes.
I am very happy with this result as it keeps my record clean and keeps me out of custody. I would enthusiastically recommend Mr. Bruzzo for any violation of Penal Code Section 69, Resisting and Deterring an Executive Officer and Battery on a Police Officer, Penal Code Section 243(b).

I got intoxicated one night and entered a home without permission of the owner. After I entered I committed over $5000.00 of property damage. When Police arrived I ran away from them despite them telling me to come to them.
I was originally arrested for Burglary (Penal Code Section 460(b)), Vandalism (Penal Code Section 594(b) (1)), Public Intoxication (Penal Code Section 647(f)) and Obstructing Justice/Resisting Arrest (Penal Code Section 148(a) (1).  [Bail was set at $25,000.00]
I hired Attorney Will Bruzzo to represent me in this matter. Mr. Bruzzo was concerned I might be charged with a felony. So he contacted the District Attorney before the court date and wrote them a letter explaining my lack of a record and good character. The District Attorney then filed the case as a misdemeanor Vandalism (Penal Code Section 594(a) (1) and Resisting
Arrest (Penal Code Section 148(a) (1).
Mr. Bruzzo then contacted the victim [Homeowner] and got them to agree to write a letter indicating he did not want prosecution once I compensated him for his damages. This is called a civil compromise. [The District Attorney (DA) then Dismissed that charge]
He then convinced the DA to DISMISS the resisting arrest charge once I did community service.  In short, Mr. Bruzzo got both charges and the entire case completely DISMISSED. I would therefore enthusiastically recommend him for any criminal case.

I was charged with Resisting Arrest/Obstructing Justice under Penal Code Section 148(a) (1). I hired Attorney Will Bruzzo to represent me because of his familiarity with the Orange County Courts, District Attorney and Judges. Mr. Bruzzo appeared without me in court several times and negotiated with the District Attorney. Mr. Bruzzo showed the District Attorney many positive things about my character. In the end Mr. Bruzzo negotiated a deal where the charge was DISMISSED once I gave DNA, took a class, made a donation and did Community Service.  I am very happy with this agreement and I would enthusiastically recommend Mr. Bruzzo for any similar criminal matter.

I was charged with Public Intoxication (Penal Code Section 647 (f)), Vandalism (Penal Code Section 594(a)/ (b) (2) (A)) and Resisting Arrest (Penal Code Section 148(a) (1). These charges arose when I got highly intoxicated at a bar. After I refused to leave the bar police were called. I then resisted their efforts to remove me. Then, once I was in the police car, I kicked out the window of the police car. I was facing up to 1 year [in jail] for these offenses. In addition I had a prior arrest for Domestic Violence. I hired Attorney Will Bruzzo to represent me because of the excellent results he got in other similar cases and because of his familiarity with the courts and District Attorney in Orange County.

Mr. Bruzzo managed to negotiate a result where the charges will be DISMISSED once I complete a class. I am very happy with this result and I would enthusiastically recommend Mr. Bruzzo for any similar criminal matter.

I was charged with Drunk Driving (Vehicle Code 23152(a) (b), Hit and Run (Vehicle Code Section 20002(a), and Resisting Arrest (Penal Code Section 148(a)). I drove a vehicle while intoxicated, had a minor accident and left the scene without calling authorities. Then I tried to evade the police when they came to talk to me. In addition, I had a prior drunk driving conviction.  I hired William W. Bruzzo to represent me because of his familiarity with the District Attorney and the Judges and the Courts in Orange County.  Mr. Bruzzo was relentless in his attempts to get me the best deal possible. In the end he got the Hit and Run DISMISSED and the Resisting Arrest DISMISSED. This was very important to me because I wanted to keep my record as clean as possible. I pled guilty to a DUI and received punishment of physical labor.  As such I would enthusiastically recommend Mr. Bruzzo for any criminal matter.

I drove intoxicated, had an accident, left the scene [without contacting authorities] and then ran from the police [and resisted them] when they arrived on scene. My blood alcohol level was a .24 [three times the legal limit]. I was charged with Drunk Driving (Vehicle Code Sections 23152(a), (b), Hit and Run (Vehicle Code Section 20002(a) and Resisting Arrest (Penal Code Section 148(a)(1). I hired Attorney William W. Bruzzo to represent me because of his experience with these types of charges. I was concerned with having these charges on my record. Mr. Bruzzo proved to be relentless in trying to get me the best deal possible. In the end, he used his familiarty with the District Attorney to get the resisting arrest (Penal Code Section 148(a)(1)) and the hit and run (Vehicle Code Section 20002(a) both  DISMISSED. This kept the most serious crimes off my record. In addition, despite having a .24 blood alcohol level he won my DMV hearing!

I am very grateful to Mr. Bruzzo for his efforts and I would enthusiastically recommend him for any criminal matter.

I was charged with Assault on a Peace Officer (Penal Code Section 241(b)); Battery on an Officer (Penal Code Section 243(b)) and Resisting Arrest (Penal Code Section 148(a) (1)). These charges occurred as a result of an altercation I got into with a Police Officer in Orange County. I was looking at up to one year in jail for these offenses. I hired William W. Bruzzo to represent me because of his reputation and his familiarity with the courts in Orange County.  I told Mr. Bruzzo that not only did I not assault the officer in question but that he assaulted me without reason or provocation. I realized that for the most part it would be my word against the officer’s.  Mr. Bruzzo took my case and began investigating the officer by filing motions which requested the personnel records of the officer in question.  The County of Orange fought to keep the records from being revealed but Mr. Bruzzo won in the end.  The personnel records of the officer in question revealed that he had had problems with violence in the past.  Mr. Bruzzo used this information in his negotiations with the District Attorney. In the end, the District Attorney agreed to DISMISS all the charges against me! I am very grateful to Mr. Bruzzo for his work and I would enthusiastically recommend him for any criminal matter.
