I was arrested for stealing items from a store valued at over $1,000.00. The high dollar amount of my case means it could have been filed as a felony. I was charged with a violation of Penal Code sections 496(a) (Receiving stolen property); 484(a)-488 (Petty Theft); and 647(h) (Prowling). I could have spent up to one year in jail for these offenses and suffered a conviction on my record. My case was complicated by the fact that the investigating officer found me looking into unoccupied vehicles that did not belong to me. Also, I admitted to entering other people’s vehicles without permission and taking their property. I was accused of felony conspiring to commit a crime (Penal Code Section 182(a)(1), several counts of felony commercial burglary (Penal Code Section 459-460(b)) and felony Grand Theft (Penal Code Section 487). I was facing almost 6 years in prison. This incident resulted from the theft of $20,000.00 worth of property. I was charged with Grand Theft (Penal Code Section 487) for taking property in excess of $500.000; in addition, I admitted to committing the crime to the police. I was referred to Attorney William W. Bruzzo by a person familiar with the courts and criminal attorneys. After I hired Mr. Bruzzo he set to work on my case even though the matter was not yet in court. Because the loss in my case exceeded $400.00 and could have been filed as a felony he spoke with the District Attorney prior to filing and managed to get the case filed as a misdemeanor. Then he began negotiating with the District Attorney for a dismissal. Any conviction for a theft offense could have resulted in the end of my career, thus it was very important for Mr. Bruzzo get the case dismissed. Mr. Bruzzo presented my case to the District Attorney, to include positive things about me, with the end result that the case was DISMISSED </ B>after I completed community service, attended counseling and paid a small fee. I was charged with Penal Code Section 488 (Petty Theft). I was alleged to have taken an item from a store without paying. I hired Attorney William W. Bruzzo to represent me in this matter. My most important concern was keeping my record clean. After I hired Mr. Bruzzo he made the appearances in court without my being present. Prior to my hiring Mr. Bruzzo I learned that he is extremely familiar with the District Attorneys in Orange County and this permits him to get better results for his clients.
