Driving on a Suspended License

In 2022 I got a Driving Under the Influence [Vehicle Code Section 23152(a)/(b] conviction and was put on probation for three years. My Driver’s License was suspended. I had no choice but to drive and unfortunately I got caught. I was then charged with Driving on a Suspended License resulting from a Drunk Driving Conviction [Vehicle Code Section 14601.2(a)] and a probation violation for violating the terms of my Drunk Driving Conviction. [I was looking at up to 1 year in jail for the probation violation and the new case. Driving on a Suspended license because of a Drunk Driving conviction is a 10-day jail minimum]. I hired Attorney Will Bruzzo to represent me. Mr. Bruzzo told me about the Court Diversion Program [Penal Code Section 1001.95] and said he would try to get me that program. While alcohol related vehicle code charges are not normally considered for Court Diversion, Mr. Bruzzo convinced the Judge to grant the Diversion Program for me. [Court Diversion under Penal Code Section 1001.95, permits the Court to DISMISS the case, usually after the Defendant completes a class and/or community service. A guilty plea is not required].

Three months later and after I completed Community Service and made a “donation” to a Court charity, the case was DISMISSED. I am very grateful for this result because it will help me keep my job, which requires a clean record. Also, because the case was dismissed I can now Seal my record, which keeps any private company from seeing that I was charged with the offense. I would therefore recommend Mr. Bruzzo for any Driving on a Suspended License [Vehicle Code Section 14601.2(a)] and/or Court Diversion [Penal Code Section 1001.95] matter.

I was being investigated for Domestic Violence (Penal Code Section 273.5(a) for getting in an altercation with my girlfriend. I left before the police could arrest me. I also had a three year old WARRANT for driving on a Suspended License (Vehicle Code Section 14601.1(a). I hired Attorney Will Bruzzo to represent me on the Domestic Violence (Penal Code Section 273.5(a) case. He took a statement from my girlfriend where she admitted to exaggerating the situation. In the end, the District Attorney never filed the case. Mr. Bruzzo then went to Court and the District Attorney DISMISSED the Warrant on the Driving on a Suspended License Charge (Vehicle Code Section 14601.1(a) when I gave DNA. I am very happy with this result and I would recommend Mr. Bruzzo for any Domestic Violence (Penal Code Section 273.5 (a) or Driving on a Suspended License (Vehicle Code Section 14601.1(a) case. I was charged with two cases of Driving on a Suspended License under Vehicle Code Section 14601.1(a) within three months of each other. I was looking at up to 6 months in jail for these offenses. [I hired Attorney Will Bruzzo to represent me] Mr. Bruzzo negotiated a deal where I pled guilty to one case and the other was DISMISSED when I gave DNA. This kept me from getting a license suspension and cut my fines in half. It also kept my record cleaner. My punishment was a fine and probation; I was given no jail time. I would enthusiastically recommend Mr. Bruzzo for any Driving on a Suspended License (Vehicle Code Section 14601.1(a) case. Date: 5-11-17

I was charged with Vehicle Code Section 14601.1(a), Driving on a Suspended License. I had a prior conviction for the same charge which could have put me in jail. I hired Attorney Will Bruzzo to represent me. Mr. Bruzzo helped me get my license and then negotiated a DISMISSAL of the Driving on a Suspended License charge [Vehicle Code Section 14601.1(a)]. I pled to another charge that carries no jail time and no points that might affect my driving record with the DMV. I am very happy with this result and I would enthusiastically recommend Mr. Bruzzo for any Driving on a Suspended License case. Date: 4-6-17

I was charged with two different cases at the same time. One case had me charged with driving on a suspended license [Vehicle Code Section 14601.1(a)] and speeding; the other had me charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance [Health and Safety Code Section 11350(a)] and Possession of Paraphernalia [Health and Safety Code Section 11364(a)] and Driving on a Suspended License [Vehicle Code Section 14601.2] I hired Attorney Will Bruzzo to represent me. Mr. Bruzzo worked out a deal with the two prosecutors whereby they would dismiss the charges once I got a Driver’s license. Mr. Bruzzo also got me time to get my license. When I appeared in court with my license he got ALL the charges DISMISSED including the drug offenses AND the Driving on a Suspended License charges. [Drug Offenses dismissed partially because the search of the vehicle was suspect] I pled to driving without a license [Vehicle Code Section 12500] which carries no jail time and no points on my record. I am very happy with this result and I would enthusiastically recommend Mr. Bruzzo for any driving on a suspended license or Possession of a Controlled Substance Matter. Date: 5-10-16

I was charged with driving on a suspended license (Vehicle Code Section 14601.2). My license was suspended because of two previous drunk driving convictions. I was looking at a minimum of 10 days in Jail for this offense. I hired Attorney Will Bruzzo to represent me due to his experience with these types of cases and his familiarity with the Courts and the District Attorney. Mr. Bruzzo told me to get my license. When I got my license he went to court and had to negotiate with several District Attorneys before he found one District Attorney willing to DISMISS the Driving on a Suspended License charge (Vehicle Code 14601.2) and substitute a charge of Driving without a License (Vehicle Code Section 12500) which carries no jail time and no points. I am very happy with this result as it keeps me from going to jail AND from getting points on my license which could have caused my license to be suspended again. I therefore recommend Mr. Bruzzo for any driving on a suspended license case. Date: 4-5-16

I was charged with Driving on a Suspended License because of a [previous] drunk driving case under vehicle code section 14601.2. Mr. Bruzzo counseled me to get my license. I was able to get a license and then Mr. Bruzzo went to court and negotiated with the District Attorney. If I had pled to the suspended license charge (Vehicle Code Section 14601.2) I would have had two more points on my driving record [limit is 4 points in 12 months] and 10 days jail. However, Mr. Bruzzo was able to convince the District Attorney to Dismiss the Driving on a Suspended License charge (Vehicle Code Section 14601.2) and instead I pled to a violation of section 12500 of the vehicle code (Driving without a valid license). This charge does not carry any points and it carries no jail time. I was fearful that more points on my record would cause my license to be suspended again so this was a VERY GOOD RESULT! I am very happy with Mr. Bruzzo’s representation and I would enthusiastically recommend him for any similar matter. Date: 3-17-15

I was charged with Vehicle Code section 20002(a) [Hit and Run] and Vehicle Code Section 14601.2(a) [Driving on a Suspended License]. These charges arose when I hit another vehicle, caused damage and fled the scene without contacting the police or the owner of the vehicle. When the police caught up with me they discovered that my license was suspended. Also, I had previously been convicted for driving on a suspended license 6 months previously. I was also on probation for three other cases. I hired Attorney Will Bruzzo to represent me because of his experience with these types of cases and his familiarity with the Courts, Judges and District Attorney in Orange County. I was looking at 60 days in Jail initially. However, Mr. Bruzzo was able to negotiate a deal where I paid money on old fines and got my sentenced reduced to 30 days with a recommendation from the judge for home confinement which means I should do NO JAIL TIME. He also persuaded the Prosecutor to DISMISS the hit and run charge, [Vehicle Code Section 20002(a)] even thought they could easily prove it. I am very grateful to Mr. Bruzzo for this result and I would enthusiastically recommend him for any hit and run, suspended license or criminal matter. Date: 9-3-13

I was charged with Driving on a Suspended License (Vehicle Code Section 14601.1); in addition, I had a prior conviction of Driving without a License (Vehicle Code Section Section 12500). Both cases went to warrant because I did not appear or I did not complete my requirements. I had 10 days of jail suspended on my old case when I picked up the new case for Driving on a Suspended License (Vehicle Code Section 14601.1) I hired Attorney Will Bruzzo to represent me because of his familiarity with the courts and District Attorney in Orange County. Mr. Bruzzo got me a program where the Driving on a Suspended License (Vehicle Code Section 14601.1) got DISMISSED after I completed the program. Also, he convinced the court not to give me jail time on the old case. I am very happy with this result and I would recommend Mr. Bruzzo for any similar case or criminal matter. Date: 3-20-13

I was charged with Health and Safety Code Section 11377(a) (Possession of a controlled substance HS 11377(a)) a felony which carries a maximum of 3 years in prison. I had previous convictions for the same charge and I had similar charges pending. I was also charged with driving on a suspended license (Vehicle Code Section 14601.1 – VC 14601.1) and possession of paraphernalia (Health and Safety Code Section 11364 – HS 11364(a)) as misdemeanors. I hired Mr. William Bruzzo because he was recommended by another attorney and because of his familiarity with the Orange County courts and the District Attorney. The original offer prior to hiring Mr. Bruzzo was 180 days in jail and pleading guilty to a felony. Mr. Bruzzo convinced the District Attorney there was not a useable amount of the controlled substance and that my driving on a suspended license was justifiable by Necessity, even though I had priors [convictions] for [that charge] too. Mr. Bruzzo got the possession charge DISMISSED [Health and Safety Code Section 11377(a) – HS 11377(a)] and the Vehicle Code Section 14601.1 [Driving on a suspended license – VC 14601.1] DISMISSED. I plead guilty to one count of possession of paraphernalia as a misdemeanor [Health and Safety Code Section 11364(a) – HS 11364] and I got CAL TRANS [instead of jail]. I would enthusiastically recommend Mr. Bruzzo for any possession of a controlled substance case or any criminal matter. Date: 12/09/2009

I was charged with Driving under the Influence and Driving on a Suspended License under Vehicle Code Sections 23152(a) and 14601.1(a) out of Orange County Superior Court. Both charges carry six months maximum custody time. I hired Mr. Bruzzo because of his experience with Drunk Driving cases and his familiarity with the Orange County Courts. Mr. Bruzzo made several visits to court to negotiate my case with the District Attorney. Mr. Bruzzo continued putting pressure on the District Attorney with the end result of getting me an infraction, which is like a traffic ticket. In this way I avoided a conviction for drunk driving. He also had the driving on a suspended license charge DISMISSED after I took a class. I truly believe that Mr. Bruzzo’s knowledge of the law, the District Attorney and the court in general was critical to the positive outcome of my case. I would enthusiastically recommend Mr. Bruzzo for any criminal matter. Date: August 10,2009
