Theft

I was charged with two counts of felony commercial burglary [Penal Code Section 459-460(b)] for taking items from a store. My total exposure on the case was 3 years and 8 months. I hired attorney Will Bruzzo to represent me because of his experience with theft and burglary cases. Mr. Bruzzo put together letters of recommendation and other items to help persuade the District Attorney. In the end Mr. Bruzzo got one felony DISMISSED and the other reduced to a misdemeanor. I was sentenced to 30 days of community service. I am very happy and relieved with this result and I would enthusiastically recommend Mr. Bruzzo for any criminal or commercial burglary matter. I was charged with penal code section 666(a)/484(a)/488, a felony [Theft with prior convictions] for a fourth petty theft case in 9 years. All of my cases were at petty theft dollar amounts but my third was charged as a felony and so was my fourth. I had already done some jail time and because of my new case I was looking at state prison [a maximum of 3 years]. I hired Attorney William Bruzzo to represent me- he was referred to me by another lawyer- and I chose him because of his familiarity with the courts, the District Attorney and the Judges in Orange County. Mr. Bruzzo prepared my case by putting me in counseling and seeking letters from my therapists which he presented to the District Attorney and the Judge. While the District Attorney only wanted to put me in jail Mr. Bruzzo was able to persuade the judge to allow me to apply for HOME CONFINEMENT instead of jail. Mr. Bruzzo used my family situation and mental health situation to get me this result. Given my prior record this is an extraordinary result and thus I would recommend Mr. Bruzzo for any criminal matter. Date: 3/12/12

I was arrested for stealing items from a store valued at over $1,000.00. The high dollar amount of my case means it could have been filed as a felony. I hired Attorney Will Bruzzo to represent me because of his familiarity with the local courts and the District Attorney. Mr. Bruzzo contacted the District Attorney before the court date in an effort to convince them not to file the case as a felony. Mr. Bruzzo was successful because the case was filed as a misdemeanor grand theft (Penal Code Section 487 (a)) The District Attorney was initially reluctant to give me a good deal because of the value of the property taken. However, after speaking with the District Attorney Mr. Bruzzo was able to negotiate a DISMISSAL once I completed community service, paid a fee, gave DNA and completed a class. This arrangement had the effect of keeping a conviction off my record. As such I would enthusiastically recommend Mr. Bruzzo for any theft or criminal matter. Date: 4/25/11

I was charged with a violation of Penal Code sections 496(a) (Receiving stolen property); 484(a)-488 (Petty Theft); and 647(h) (Prowling). I could have spent up to one year in jail for these offenses and suffered a conviction on my record. I hired Attorney Will Bruzzo to represent me because of his knowledge with the Orange County Courts and the District Attorney. My case was complicated by the fact that the investigating officer found me looking into unoccupied vehicles that did not belong to me. Also, I admitted to entering other people’s vehicles without permission and taking their property. Then I consented to a search of my vehicle which revealed several items that did not belong to me valued at $300.00. Mr. Bruzzo set to work negotiating my case with the District Attorney. Despite all the evidence against me he was able to get the case DISMISSED after I completed community service. This result kept me out of jail and kept a conviction off my record. I would enthusiastically recommend Mr. Bruzzo for any criminal and/or theft matter. Date: 7/26/10

I was accused of felony conspiring to commit a crime (Penal Code Section 182(a)(1), several counts of felony commercial burglary (Penal Code Section 459-460(b)) and felony Grand Theft (Penal Code Section 487). I was facing almost 6 years in prison. This incident resulted from the theft of $20,000.00 worth of property. I hired Will Bruzzo as my attorney because I was told by someone familiar with attorneys in Orange County that he is a very effective lawyer who gets good results. Mr. Bruzzo went right to work negotiating my case with the District Attorney and the Judge. Mr. Bruzzo argued my case with the DA and several judges. In the end Mr. Bruzzo was able to get all my charges REDUCED TO MISDEMEANORS and make me eligible to apply for home confinement. My Co-defendant in the case pled guilty to a felony and was sentenced to jail. As such, I would enthusiastically recommend Mr. Bruzzo for any criminal matter. Date: 10/13/09

I was charged with Grand Theft (Penal Code Section 487) for taking property in excess of $500.000; in addition, I admitted to committing the crime to the police. I was referred to Attorney William W. Bruzzo by a person familiar with the courts and criminal attorneys. After I hired Mr. Bruzzo he set to work on my case even though the matter was not yet in court. Because the loss in my case exceeded $400.00 and could have been filed as a felony he spoke with the District Attorney prior to filing and managed to get the case filed as a misdemeanor. Then he began negotiating with the District Attorney for a dismissal. Any conviction for a theft offense could have resulted in the end of my career, thus it was very important for Mr. Bruzzo get the case dismissed. Mr. Bruzzo presented my case to the District Attorney, to include positive things about me, with the end result that the case was DISMISSED after I completed community service, attended counseling and paid a small fee. What is more, I NEVER HAD TO APPEAR IN COURT AFTER I HIRED MR. BRUZZO. I truly believe that Mr. Bruzzo’s experience in the local courts as well as his abilities made all the difference in my case. I would enthusiastically recommend him for any criminal matter. Date: 6-12-07

I was charged with Penal Code Section 488 (Petty Theft). I was alleged to have taken an item from a store without paying. I hired Attorney William W. Bruzzo to represent me in this matter. My most important concern was keeping my record clean. After I hired Mr. Bruzzo he made the appearances in court without my being present. Prior to my hiring Mr. Bruzzo I learned that he is extremely familiar with the District Attorneys in Orange County and this permits him to get better results for his clients. After Mr. Bruzzo made several appearances in court without my being present, he was able to get the misdemeanor charge of Petty Theft DISMISSED. He then entered a plea to an infraction on my behalf. Infractions are like speeding tickets and thus they do not effect your record with the Department of Justice which could effect job possibilities. I truly believe that without Mr. Bruzzo’s knowledge of the courts and the District Attorneys in Orange County I would not have had such a favorable result. I highly recommend Mr. Bruzzo for any Petty Theft or criminal matter. Date: 3/9/05

I was charged with felony Grand Theft under Penal Code Section 487(a) for taking property with a value in excess of $1000.00. I also had a theft related prior conviction. I was concerned with having another theft conviction on my record to say nothing of jail time. I hired Attorney Will Bruzzo to represent me. Mr. Bruzzo told I could the case reduced to a misdemeanor and then file for Court Diversion [Penal Code Section 1001.95]. Court Diversion is only permitted for misdemeanors. Mr. Bruzzo was successful in persuading the Judge to reduce the case to a misdemeanor. He then filed a Petition to get me the Court Diversion program which included letters of recommendation, a resume, proof of education and family pictures. The Court granted the Diversion Program for me! Now my case will be dismissed in 3 months [and eligible for sealing]. I am grateful for Mr. Bruzzo’s representation and I would recommend him for any Theft Matter.
