Missing Women’s Husband Injured Evading Sheriff

The husband of a missing woman has been arrested under suspicion of murder. David Viens was arrested as he recuperates from the injuries he received last week when he jumped off a cliff. He was trying to evade Sheriff’s deputies in Rancho Palos Verdes where the height of the cliff was 80 feet. Today officials were at his restaurant in Lomita where Coroners and cadaver dogs were on sight as portions of the restaurant were being excavated. Last week Veins was listed as being in critical condition at Los Angeles County Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. Blood was found at his former residence and it was noted that he never reported his wife missing. She has not been seen since October 2009 and is presumed dead. Dawn Viens was last seen leaving her husband’s restaurant.
